Is it easy to get around Tokyo without speaking Japanese?

I am planning my first trip to Japan next month and I don't speak Japanese at all. Is the Tokyo subway system easy to navigate? Are the station signs and ticket machines in English?

Absolutely! Every single station on the Yamanote line and Metro networks has English signage, line color coding, and station numbers (like C08 or JY17). Google Maps and Suica/Pasmo cards work flawlessly. ๐Ÿ”— https://images.unsplash.com/photo-1503899036084...

Just download Google Translate with offline Japanese dictionary and the Navitime Japan Travel app. Also, station staff are extremely polite and will point you in the right direction even if you just show them the destination name on your phone!
