Additional Video Information

Africa is slowly tearing apart, and scientists say the process is already creating the foundations of a brand-new ocean. Deep beneath East Africa, powerful geological forces are pulling the continent in different directions, opening enormous cracks in the ground and reshaping the landscape before our eyes. Researchers have discovered that the East African Rift is evolving faster than previously believed in some regions, raising fascinating questions about how continents break apart and new oceans are born. Although the transformation will take millions of years to fully unfold, the earliest stages are happening right now, providing a rare glimpse into one of Earth's most dramatic geological events. This video explores the giant rift splitting Africa, the science driving the separation, and what our planet may look like when a new ocean eventually fills the gap. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our Social Media: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This video is made for entertainment purposes.
